Unit History

Organized from the paroled prisoners of Company H, 1st Light Artillery Regimentin mid-1864.
Battery was armed with four guns on November 19, 1864 and served as heavy artillery in May 1865.
Battery surrendered by Gen. E. Kirby Smith, the commander of the Trans-Mississippi Department, on May 26, 1865.
